LAN Airlines sought to elevate its profile in the Australian market by leveraging partnerships with a non-travel brand/retailer.
In Q1 of 2015 GTI Tourism partnered LAN Airlines (LATAM) with SurfStitch, Australia’s largest online retailer for surf/beach fashion. The six week campaign ran across SurfStich’s digital channels, promoting three unique South American holiday itineraries and ‘win a trip’ competitions. GTI Tourism brought tour operator partner Geckos Adventures onboard to provide itinerary suggestions for SurfStitch customers interested in visiting South America.
The campaign had a reach of over seven million across the six week period, and achieved over 44,000 competition entries, with 25.6% of entrants opting-in to receive future sales and promotional communications from LAN Airlines.
